Who can participate in the online coding club?

The club is suitable for primary school children Years 3 – 6. There are also sessions for secondary school students in Years 7 – 9 .

What does my son/daughter need to participate?

Students need a computer with audio and video and a good connection to the internet. Ideally, they also need a quiet space at home where they can concentrate and work.

Do I need special software?

No. We use the Google Chrome browser which is commonly used – and a virtual classroom, which you can also access through the browser.

For primary school students we use Scratch, which you can download for free – but we use the online version for our classes.

What if my son/daughter doesn’t want to appear on video?

That’s not a problem. Your son/daughter can join with audio only. They will still be able to follow the lesson and access the weekly assigned activities via the virtual classroom.

How long are the lessons?

The online lessons last for one hour.

Lessons take place on Mondays Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. You can decide the day that suits you best.

For Years 7 – 9 the lessons are on Mondays.
